Join us in the studio for a Kintsugi workshop with Rotterdam-based ceramic artist Min Say.
Kintsugi is a traditional Japanese craft of restoring broken ceramics with lacquer and gold leaf. It is a practice that embraces, rather than hides, the traces of breakage. Each repaired piece carries its own story, celebrating imperfection and transformation.
In this workshop, we’ll explore Modern Kintsugi (簡易金継ぎ / 간이킨츠기): a beginner-friendly approach that preserves the philosophy of traditional Hon Kintsugi while using safe, modern materials instead of natural lacquer (urushi).
Join us for a 2 hour workshop to experience this beautiful way of seeing value in what was once broken.
Each participant is asked to bring a piece of broken or chipped pottery to repair.
November 29th from 4:00-6:00PM
