About Us

Welcome to Clay Studio! We are run by a small but mighty team, and our mission is to share our love of ceramics with our community.

Our studio is located at Hemonylaan 6A, Amsterdam 1074BE in the De Pijp neighbourhood of Amsterdam, conveniently placed at the end of the Albert Cuyp Market.

Please note: Studio hours of operation are dependent on scheduled class times and select hours for Members.

Meet our instructors

We are proud to offer a passionate team of instructors that bring years of experience, and a few unique ceramic techniques to our studio.

Telfer

I'm an Amsterdam-based ceramic artist who has been working with clay since mid-2019. From starting my own studio in Canada, working as a production potter, and teaching courses across studios in Amsterdam, I'm currently the Studio Manager at Clay Coffee. I love bringing my dog Otis to our classes, and in my spare time I like to experiment with different firing techniques and mess around with kilns.

Begum

I am an Amsterdam-based ceramic designer, and have experience in ceramic and porcelain casting, drawing design, hand-building and sculpture. I'm a studio assistant at Clay Coffee, and also teach our courses in Nerikomi. In my spare time I like to research Japanese and Korean ceramic methods and culture.
