Meet Clay
We are proud to offer a passionate team of instructors that bring years of experience, and a few unique ceramic techniques to our studio.

Telfer
I'm a ceramic artist and teacher based in Amsterdam, working with clay since 2019. After starting my own studio in Canada, working as a production potter, and teaching at studios across Amsterdam, I became the owner of Clay Ceramics Studio (formerly Clay Coffee) in May 2025. I love bringing my dog Otis to class, and in my spare time, you’ll usually find me experimenting with new firing techniques or tinkering with the kilns.

Begum
Originally from Istanbul, I am an Amsterdam-based ceramic designer with a background in ceramic and porcelain casting, drawing design, hand-building, and sculpture. I teach hand-building and Nerikomi courses at Clay Ceramics Studio and also supports the studio as an assistant. Outside of the studio, I enjoy researching and exploring both ancient and contemporary Japanese ceramic techniques and traditions.

Kaden
I have been doing ceramics since 2014. I started with a passion for large, wheel-thrown vases, and in recent years have become more drawn to making shapes such as bowls and cups. I love making objects that are thoughtfully designed and are comfortable for people to use on a daily basis. I am an instructor at Clay Studio, and in my classes I encourage students to make objects that they themselves find beautiful and enjoy using.

Paola
I'm Paola. I began my pottery journey with slip casting and gradually found my way to the potter’s wheel. Over the years, I’ve worked across many areas of the ceramic world before settling in the Netherlands, where I now teach at Clay Ceramics Studio and other studios around the city while developing my own production.
Outside the studio, I love music, dancing, and getting lost in a good book.
